Default The QAF - Is it time to re define some requirements?

As a consultant who has worked with providers to ensure they meet the requireemnts of the QAF, it is clear that some of the requirements are ambiguous and/or 'fuzzy'.

Although no-one would deny that the QAF was a huge step forward in establishing a minimum set of standards, I feel that the time has come to objectively re-visit it to ensure that it is fit for purpose in years to come as providers seek to achieve higher levels.

I would welcome the views of others on this and of course a response from CLG and commissioning authorities.

Question QAF Pilot

CLG have just announced revised QAF pilots will start in June this year. They havent announced whos taking part yet and the draft is not yet public.

What would I like to see?

I would like a greater emphasis on developing customer skills to help demonstrate the success of the service in equipping customers for independent living.

I expect to see lots more input on prevention, demonstrating how services are actively preventing customers from draining resourses from other public purses as a means of demonstrating service performance.

We can only wait!

Default QAF Refresh project

For the latest information on the pilot, due to end this week, and for a copy of the proposed 'New' QAF, visit

http://www.sitra.org/index.php?id=420

Unfortunately, the QAF is a WORD document at present which is not too useful in an electronic world. DCLG were not too interested in my EXCEL version, which analyses the results, when I contacted them.

Quote:
CLG will be analysing the feedback from the QAF Pilot and once the Refresh QAF goes live it will be a local AA decision as to how they may wish to analyse their QAF data.
It will be interesting to see the results of the Pilot run - I consider that a lead from CLG on standardising how information is collected and analysed would save much duplication across AAs.

QAF refresh is going to be presented in the regions see

http://www.spkweb.org.uk/Subjects/Qu...QAF+Update.htm

QAF lite is also going to be updated. CLG advise me that they intend publishing these within the next few weeks on the SPK Web.

I will have an electronic version (Excel) available shortly afterwards.

Default eQAF and eQAF Lite

The QAF Lite has now been refreshed and I have developed an electronic self scoring version of this to complement the electronic full QAF.

Also available for AAs is an analyser to produce management information and statistics on completed eQAFs submitted by their providers.

Contact me for more details
